Default Flying to Denver to pick up my 02 cab!!

Woohoo! I'll be flying to Denver early Monday morning to pick up my first Porsche ever! I will be the 2nd owner of a lapis blue C2 6 speed. Grey on the inside with supple leather front and rear. Comfort and Technic package. 18" turbo look wheels with colored crest wheel caps. Almost two years left on the warranty (22 or 23 months, I'm too excited to remember) and very high mileage - 5400 miles!! Barely broke in - I'll take care of that on the drive home. The only minor drawback, which really isn't a big deal, is the black convertible top and no PSM. I wasn't looking for PSM specifically and although I would've preferred a metropol blue top, black looks fine.

I talked to the service department at Stammler Imports where the car was purchased and he told me it was just in for its routine maintenance service. He knows the car and previous owner pretty well and told me that I'm buying a creampuff. I asked about arranging a PPI with him and he said he just went through it and to save my money.

Sorry for rambling, but it's hard not to. Thanks to everyone on Rennlist for letting me lurk for the past year and a half - you've helped me out enormously.

Congratulations! Have a fun drive back. My former Boxster S was Lapis with grey full, supple leather - a beautiful combination, with a grey top. I managed to get a new top under warranty just as I sold it and the guy who bought it hoped they would put a black top on it (they wouldn't). Lapis looks really sharp when its waxed up well - get it home, wax it, and post pictures!

Congrats on the Car and enjoy the drive home! PSM is no biggy, I don't have it and neither do GT3's

Don, congrats on the new car... it's the same model as mine and I absolutely love it. You might want to purchase a windscreen if it doesn't already have one.

Don't forget to bring your radar detector and a camera. I picked mine up in Texas about 6 months ago and drove back to the Bay Area. What an awsome trip. The only part that was tough to take was the hard top and the fact I could not take it off until I got home. Also, bring plenty of music. My trip was about 1,900 miles and although the sound was nice, you will want some on the freeways. Have a great time.

Congrats on your first Porsche. I just drove my 996 home from texas, 1400 miles. Surprisingly very comfortable 911 compared to earlier ones. Have fun and be safe, avoid driving late at night ..

GREAT! You will need to take pictures in the mountains as you head home. And a Radar detector is a MUST. Colorado has been on a ticket writing spree.

Did you buy it from Stammler?

Best of both worlds: a nice drive and a new car that's broken in!
