Default Exhaust heat solutions

Has anyone ever tried using "header wraps", or something of the sort to contain heat? I used to use these with muscle car engines in the past and they work really well. Has anybody toyed with this on their P-cars? I am going to be installing some new headers soon and was thinking of ways to cut down heat in the engine compartment area.

Not one person has experimented with header wraps on areas of the exhaust to control heat better? I thought of it as an option and can't imagine why it wouldn't be a good idea. I'd rather ask around, first, obviously.

There isn't a problem with the heat in the engine compartment to begin with. Even at idle in 100 degree temps, the compartment only heats up to around 140 - 150 degrees. As soon as you get rolling, she dops back down to below 110. I don't see any benefit gained in spending time designing something that isn't necessary.

My concern was switching to the different headers. But if heat is not going to be a problem, then all the better. Thanks for your input.
