Default Getting stalked!

I'm a relative new owner, and while I fully expected attention, things are a bit over the top at times.

After a month of ownership, I've had countless people come up to me at gas stations and drool, asking all sorts of questions. Comments like "Totally badass car man!"

I've had young women take double, triple takes, and some stare. A bank teller told me I am a tease. When I asked for clarification, she said that I'm married, and driving that car was 'just not right.'

I was paced by an R32 right off my rear bumper in the left lane for miles while he held up passing traffic.

Bringing it back from Fl, I had two girls roll up next to me at 80mph in the left lane, roll down the window, and scream "I LOVE YOUR CAR", while blowing kisses. Also coming back from Fl, I had two older gents in a caddy roll up at a gas station, asking me every question they could think of. When we left, they demanded that we leave together, them ahead, and I roll past them on the highway at high speed. I did, at about 100 mph, and got two out the window thumbs up from two 70+ gents laughing their butts off.

It's crazy sometimes. I tell my wife I'm a rock star. LOL.

You guys get the same sort of thing?

Oh yeah - all the same stuff... the best was a very attractive model type outside of the W hotel in Union Square come over to me and say "that's the sexiest car I've ever seen"... it's all good

Absolutely the same thing happens to me. My last Pcar was silver, and it drew attention, but nothing like my present one. (SY what can I say?) I have never been asked out so many times on a date by complete strangers. I never thought the gas station was a pick up place...who knew? Dates, dinners, a few marriage proposals...funny...the one guy whom I WANT to ask me...hasn't...what's up with that? I guess since he has the same car...he isn't impressed.

A 'lil too much eye shadow Mark. Tone it down a little, and I'm sure you'll be in the game.

I've had similar experiences. I haven't had my car long (only have about 8 k miles on the car), but I've had three occasions where I gave girls I didn't know rides in my C4S. The two stories worth telling are:

1. On St. Patrick's Day weekend, also known as Scranton Pennsylvania's Mardi Gras, I drove my car through the city to see what people were doing and I had two girls run up to the car and ask for a ride which I gave them.

And 2. I had a girl follow me for a while, then she pulled up along side of my car and yelled out 'nice car!', (since she was good looking) I asked her if she wanted a ride (if she was ugly I'd have just said thanks) and so she pulled over and got in and I took her for a ride. She was 29, blonde and had a sexy hour glass type figure, her body was like Britney Spears but not nearly as toned. We went for the ride and talked for a while. She seemed very interested in me and called me a few times (like every day for the next three days- hey Porsches are rare in this neck of the woods) but then changed her mind because as it turns out she had a boyfriend (that she never mentioned before) and thought she could leave him (because he treats her bad) but then realized that she couldn't (because she likes it [I guess]). No big loss though, I mean, who really wants to get involved with someone that follows you because you have a nice car? She probably did me the biggest favor of my life.

This is possible because I sort of have an honest face and live in a very low crime area, I mean I doubt someone would get in my car if I drove through New York City. (What a tool a Porsche would be for a serial killer, too bad for them but good for us that they're usually broke. lol.)

From the posts so far, it sounds like it ought to be called "the C4S effect" (btw, has anyone had a similar experience in a Cayenne ...?).

When my 24 year old beautiful blonde girlfriend drives my C4S around (pauses, to don extra protection firesuit), the attention she gets is unreal (and very funny, especially from guys).

About ten years ago my wife and I were westbound toward Memphis from Nashville in our 78 Targa (top stowed, of course). Noticed a car was staying close by and when I pulled in to refuel the car followed and the three southern cuties inside said that only wanted to tell us how much they liked the car.

Seems I can't refuel the 01 C4 without someone wanting to ask questions and basically just admire the car.

But then back in 63 the same kind of thing often happened with my new T-bird.

I haven't had the girls track me down yet, I've only had the car a month, but I have gotten the occasional 'nice car!' in passing. Typically I get the, "how did you get a car like that?" I can only assume it's because I must not look old enough to afford one.

However, I was at the gas station a few days ago and there was a woman on the other side of the same pump talking on her cell phone. When I opened the gas door she says, "that is so cool! I've never seen that before." I just smiled. Then I hear her say on the phone, "I just saw the coolest thing! There is a guy here in a Camaro and the gas door is up front." I'm not sure how she came up with Camaro, especially since she could only see a little bit of the car. Part of me was a little irritated and then again I just had to laugh.

P.S. you guys aren't going to tell my girlfriend that I took those girls for rides? I mean, I never checked with her but she'd probably say that I'm not allowed to give bimbos rides. lol
