Default electrical help needed

Hello all,
Went out to the car this morning to find a dead battery. The car has been sitting for about a week. I hooked up the charger and noticed that the little yellow light, (orientation light) and the lights on the switches to the trunk and engine compartment lid are on all the time. I haven't had the car that long but never noticed it before. Are these supposed to be on? Any ideas? TIA

Sounds like the battery may have blown a cell. I have read on other boards where the battery colapses if left to drain and it can cause all sorts of weird electrical problems....dash lights flickering, windows going up and down, coutesy lights coming and and so on.....probably driving the computer crazy with spurious voltage fluctuations. Can you try another battery...jump leads maybe?

Thanks Scouser I'll give it a try. It's odd though because I've now been running the charger all day so I'm sure the battery's got plenty of juice...
