Default Mufflers

About to replace my stock mufflers (friend said they sound like a sewing machine, except quieter) with a new pair from Top Gear in UK. The sound clip they have on the web site sounds awesome so we will see...

Or go with the Fister mod, which mimics PSE (Porsche Sport Exhaust) in full time mode. Affordable and sounds great.

Fister mod is great sounding, but doesn't reduce the weight. Those stock mufflers are ridiculously heavy!
Couple them with an X-Pipe and really let the sound out

Ive got a set of the Top Gear mild sports they are definitely not as loud as the PCar sports. Mine are backed up by a set of headers and 200 cel crossovers. I like the sound as they don't drone but still have a nice sound under acceleration especially above 3k rpm.

Yeah I went with the sports silencers, bit louder. I like they are all stainless steel, much lighter, and should add some HP. I assume your system has been good?

They modify your stock mufflers to sound like the factory sports exhaust. I've had mine for about 15 years.

I have recently gone straight pipe, with custom made stainless steel. Very cheap to make ~$400, and easy to install. The sound is unbelievable over 3000rpm, you drop around 30kg right off the back of the car, and gain maybe 15hp with the muffler and cat delete. Also, to balance the car back, you can put a Lithiumax battery up front and remove toolkit and spare. All up, a saving of 65kg plus. But hard to live with full time.

I went with Top Gear 200 cell cats and they are very good quality. I wouldn't waste your money on a Fisher hack or even the Gundo hack. You can hardly hear the difference. Depending on how loud you want the car you can accomplish it with several options: 1. Fab Speed mufflers are great. 2. Muffler delete like the one above (sounds great). Keep the cats on but with a muffler delete you'll definitely hear it. If super loud isn't your thing, look into FabSpeed.......

Loudness is perceptive, but scientifically, it’s measured in decibels. There is a difference, but to your point, not enough for many people to consider it. There are YouTube videos on this.

100%. Muffler replacement, seat replacement, battery replacement can add up to 100lbs weight savings.

I have the valved exhaust (basically PSE) from Top Gear and have been extremely happy with it... quiet (silenced) when my wife is riding with me, loud mode for cruising around myself. Best of both worlds.

As a spouse challenged individual I have no such concern, I figured I would use the switch once to set it to loud and leave it there forever!
