hello all,
could those of you who are perhaps familiar with FVD help me out?
i'm looking to do a compleate upgrade of the exhaust system from the headers all the way back.
FVD sells a compleat "GT Exhaust System: (part# FVD 111 996 70) for 5195 euros based on the 2001 catalogue (which is the most recent one i have)
however.. they also sell the separate componants as follows:
headers
cross pipes
race exhaust
for a cost which totals around 3500 euros...
i'm wondering..what additional benifit from the GT system do u get rather then bolting in these new pieces... from what i can see from the photo, the GT exhaust system is welded 2ghether and would not allow removal of inividual componants (unless u cut them off i guess)..
i was told that the GT system was of course lighter but i'm assuming that the individual componants are made out of the same grade aluminium.
so yeah..like i said..what am i missing here..cause i don't want to **** away a few extra thousand dollars on nothing if i don't have too.

post this over at 6speedonline. FVD surfs that forum often, as they are board sponsors. i've met the people that run it and been to their shop. nice bunch. i'm sure there is a good reason for the pricing between the two ways of doing it.

Hello,
We are also sponsors on here!!![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
The system you are seeing in your catalog is for the MK I GT3 (2001). We use individual parts for your car which are listed in our newest catalog....
Here are the exhaust components we have for your car:
996 GT3 Headers(210 111 997)-$1,995
996 GT3 Sport Cats(210 111 20)-$1,995
996 GT3 Exhaust(210 111 996 03)-$1,550
If you do sport cats it is suggested that you upgrade to our programing to avoid a check engine light...
We also have a BMC filter and camshafts for your car (just to let you know whats out there....)
Regards,
Evan
