Default Looking for IPAS Codes

Hi,

Ive visited 3 porsche dealers in the past 2 weeks looking to get ipas codes for my 03 C4S manual trans swap. All of them say Porsche wont let them do it. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get these. My nearest dealer is about a 2 hour drive. I guess I could schedule some tech time to get them to reprogram the DME to manual, but im sure theyll want to do other work as well. I talked to my local indy and he can do it, if I get the codes, he is running into the same problem.

Im not asking for them to just hand them over, id be glad to pay a reasonable fee for the service. I had a service guy tell me they are in the business of fixing cars and dont give that info out. He would schedule an appointment, but couldnt give me a quote to just reprogram the car.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

PM me if you can help.

Thanks

I told my local dealer that I was doing a transmission swap and the guy at the parts could get was genuinely interested. They let me take a screen shot of the monitor with all of the codes. Tried to give him a $20 but he wouldn’t take it and wished me luck.

I did take my VIN and registration as proof of ownership.

You should be able to run the car just fine with dme set up as a tiptronic. Mine did but I eventually changed it.

I was hoping for the same result. My car still wont start as the dash says a message about the selector not being correct. I've followed your schematic and made jumpers for the clutch interlock, but it still wont crank.

Did you make a jumper for the transmission gear selector also? Yalu need to jump that so the DME thinks the car is in park or Neutral and will allow you to engage the starter?
I was able to get IPAS codes from my car from the dealer I buy a lot of parts from.
Good luck with your project.

you're talking about the Jumper from B7 on TCU to C13 on DME? Yes, but I have no confidence I have it terminated correctly. Since the first attempt I have acquired a stash of the actual pins that go in the connectors and dont need a splice any more. Going back over my wiring tomorrow as I would like to get it cranked this week.

try putting this back in, from the shifter. Make sure it's in PARK or NEUTRAL position. See if it starts then.

Really, Thanks, That allowed me to get the car started. I actually thought I had it connected already, but the connector was loose.

Also found a place online to get my ipas codes. Not exactly cheap, but I'm not driving all ove creation trying to get a parts or service guy to take pity on mr.

I'll update later once I get further in buttoning up.
