Yes another brake thread. And Yes I know search is my friend. And I have tried to find the answers but I could not.
I need brakes all the away around. After research it seems like Sebro over Porsche rotors do to cost alone. I had planned on Sebro drilled with Porsche pads over the Textar as some people say they stop better and less chance of noise. I called Pelican to order and the rep said “by the way the Porsche pads can be just as noisy as the Textar so if you buying them do to that there may not be a difference” I paused on the order till I found out more.
I have oem rotors and pads and they do not make squeal. IMO properly installed brakes should not squeak. However brakes, wipers and tires are all safety items to me. I don’t track the car but I do want good brakes. Is there any reason to believe that P pads would make noise if installed correctly?
I intend to change everything from rotors, hardware, bolts pads and sensors.

OP - Properly bedded stock brakes don’t make noise. I’ve used Textar, Pagid, Akebono and Porterfield pads with zero squeal. All of them stop quite well. Some dust more than others. Some bite better than others on initial brake application. My fave for street is the Porterfield R4-S. I don’t know if the Porsche tax premium for the Porsche non-sport pad is worth it. Maybe someone here, on RL, has used them.

Thank you. That was my view as well. I did not look at porterfield. I’ve had mixed results with Brembo ( didn’t think I was concerned about brake dust till I put those on) and Hawk pads in a SRT8 I own so thought the P pads might be better.

Replacing brake pads without the piston dampers (they stick onto the back of the pads) will result in squealing.

I really like the Porterfield R4-S pads on my car. They have decent bite and less dust than factory pads and don't make any noise.

I am a huge fan of buying Brembo direct from them. I've put them on my Audi S4, Allroad and my F150. Great price and very low stress to order and have delivered, plus its Brembo.

I ran some Brembo pads for about 1000 miles and replaced them with Akebono.
I hated the Brembos.
They performed horribly.

My factory pads never made noise and only squealed during a track session.

I just did the full brake Monty on my targa. I would only get drilled rotors if you’re going for the Y2K OEM look. I just started using the Porterfield R4-S and so far I like it. I did not re-install the shims. I get a teensy little squeak just before full stop. It’s kind of cute.

Textar is an OEM supplier. Buying P branded pads at a premium may get you Tested or equiv. I have Texted pads and Sebro rotors on my 996. Driven enthusiastically. No noise and little dust.
My only experience with Bremen has been a recently purchased 2013 Cayenne with Bremen ceramics and one equiv rotors. At 10k miles I had a warped disc due to uneven pad wear. Replaced with Textar and ATE discs.
