Default Lght green debris in oill filter

I am a new 996 owner and have been doing a lot of reading on this site. During an oil change in preparation for an IMS bearing replacement I discovered a lot of little debris in the pleats of the oil filter. No metal at all, but until I did an extensive search I did not know what this debris was. I now know that it is most certainly cam chain guide wear pieces. I am crestfallen at what is to come. I am determined to do these repairs myself as I have a lift, a nice shop and time. My concern is that these particles are of a light green color and my understanding is that the guides are brown. I have not tested for cam deviation (I only have the Foxwell and not sure if I can test with that tool), but I do have a decent amount of chain rattle when starting the car for the first time in a day. The car has 63,000 miles and no major service history. Do these light green pieces indicate something different? Thanks.

Paul
