Glad to know this.
my goal was to have a spare set of wheels to use as track rain tires. I’m comfortable with these as my rain set.
Thanks,

Both original factory optional BBS Sport Design and Sport Classics have rim width and offset stamped next to air valve stems.

Porsche NEVER made a 8.5" width in the Sport Design Wheels.
Only three OE widths:
996.362.134.55 - 7.5x18
996.362.136.50 - 8x18
996.362.140.50 - 10x18

They made four sizes actually.

You’ve forgotten 9x18”

Ah... Boxster width for rear? What's the part number?

My book was for 911 and only list a 10" for the rears.

Found it. 996.362.138.50 ET52

Made for the rear 986 Boxsters, not 996.

An assumption here-
These 9” Boxter rears should fit the 996 fronts?

Even though it has the same offset, you'd probably have scrubbing on the fender well liner. I wouldn't recommend it.

i run BBS wheels that are 18x9 +46 in the front with 235/40-18 and i don't rub anything (also lowered ~30mm)

with a spacer you might be able to make it work so you don't hit your struts.

BBS LM’s for the front of the 996 are 9 x 18 ET50, so yes, the 9” Boxster rears will fit the front of a 996.
But they’re not light …

That's irrelevant since Porsche was big on parts sharing and reusing parts on a newer model. Heck, my original factory wheels have a 993 part number. Some parts are verified as interchangeable, some are not. Can't tell you how many times I've heard, "I've saved money and bought the Boxster version, but it doesn't fit perfectly. Why does it have a 996 part number!?"
