996.2 C2 front lip options?
I could have sworn there was at least one front lip for a C2 996.2 that don't try to make the nose look like a spaceship. I'm looking for something relatively clean and simple, like what is on the C4S, 40AE, etc. Maybe I'm crazy...

wdb - The OE little aero II lip is about $400+ship. Cup lip is about .75” deeper and $165. For my eye the larger lip helped balance the shark snout dip, or “droopy chin” syndrome look in profile.
Cup lip on standard front cover.
Profile not cartoonish with cup lip on non-aero .2.

Sorry missed line 2. Just got off phone with Demon Sports. Real nice guy. He told me they are not really made for the 996.2
how is the fit on your OEM bumper and did you go with street or race? Thanks

Mine is a race, you can see some of the mold release but it’s minimal. @TexSquirrel sent me some links for hardware via Amazon instead of the clips + double sided tape.

The Cup car lip from Demon Speed fits the 996.2 aerokit bumper without any modifications.
It attaches to the factory aerokit lip location.
But it should fit the standard 996.2 bumper with some minor mods.
I have never tried to attach one to a standard 996.2 bumper, so I can’t confirm.
You can modify it to a 996.1 bumper.
I have done that before.
But it definitely required trimming the lip and drilling holes in the bumper.
996.2 Aerokit:
My recommended hardware:
I‘ll post links to Amazon parts when I get a chance.

This hardware replaces the plastic pushpins which can fail.
It requires no drilling to install, but the bumper does need to be removed, which is simple to do.

I purchased one of the last cup car lips from FVD just before Porsche discontinued them in 2020.
When DemonSpeed took preorders for their replacement I bought one for a spare.(awesome price BTW)
I later acquired a used OEM Porsche lip when I bought my GT3RS deck & wing.
I have two spares now.
In 2021, I parked too close to a parking curb and folded my lip 180°.
When I checked it later, there was no evidence it had been “abused.”
When I shipped my 996 to GA for the F6I build, the shipped damaged my original lip due to running over some chains on the ramp.
It’s not horrible, but it is noticeable to me.
Leaving a parking lot in December, my lip took another beating, but doesn’t look any worse.
I still haven’t swapped it out for a better looking one, because it’s not worth the time to change it out yet.
All this to say, just buy one unless plan to hit LOTS of curbs.
It can take a tremendous amount of abuse and still look good.

I have one as well from demon speed. Haven't put it on yet. Only because I haven't added my 3rd radiator yet that's been sitting on the shelf. This spring I'll put it on. I figure I will need a couple of the Demon speed splitters as a just in case. No big deal. They are relatively inexpensive.
