I can’t think of any PTS color that I’d choose over Arctic Silver Metallic for a 996.
Remember, Arctic Silver wasn’t a standard color for the 1999 911.
It was an optional color that cost $805 back in 1998.
There’s a reason so many people paid extra

^^ PFFFT! ^^ Really? Isn’t “arctic silver” one of the most common colors for the 996? Yeah… 1 paint can… I guess it’s great if you really want to be one of the crowd…
Silver wasn't a common color in the 90s for the 911. But the metallic colors became very popular with the 996 because they were different than what was common with the 993 and 964. Red, black and yellow were the rage. Red and black for obvious reasons. RUF made yellow popular.
Just like today, many wanted a different color than mainstream, so they got silver and metallic colors. Myself included with seal grey which was not seen before on the street. Sure, they became popular as a result. Kinda like all the bright colors we are talking about in this thread. Remember, the Carerra GT was launched in silver not purple. Just part of the times.
Yeah, I was considering Zanzibar for a while, but a few instances I've seen of it seemed a bit flat and dull. It may just be that it's 20 y.o. paint getting flatter.
I believe some of these are wrapped others are resprays but some might be factory paint
Viper green From a Member on here I believe. Factory paint, optional not PTS I seem to remember. Wrap in mint green I believe this is a lamborghini color or ford focus rs. Voodoo blue, liquid wrap Mexico Voodoo or python blue? Martin's ruby star 996 (Lava) orange

Did they do PTS in the 996 era? I don’t recall seeing any real PTS colors on these cars. The wildest examples are Vesuvio and Nephrite green.
I've wondered the same.
Of course I can't find it now, but a year or so ago there was a 996 for sale with an interior described as PTS (or maybe "color to sample"? and "Bone" color interior. It definitely looked white.
