Default Knock Sensor Wiring?

I was able to source a used knock sensor clip to replace my rodent damaged one. On my 99 harness there is 3 wires Orange/Green, Orange and black. On new connector from a 2001 only has 2 wires (blue/red, black/white) Will this connector be compatible with my current harness? I looked at 99 wiring diagram and only see 2 wires listed.
Thanks

I think you are way confused dude..

The 99 has two knock sensors that have two pin connectors each with two wires each and a grounding shield..

The orange/green wire goes to knock sensor 2

The orange wire goes to knock Sensor 1

The brown/orange wire goes to both knock sensors 1 and 2

The black wire goes to both knock sensors as a " shielding " only

Yes, if you have a minitimer two pin connector ( Ev-1 style) it is compatible, just wire it exactly like the old one disregarding the colors...

Where is your old connector and the rest of the wiring?

Connector and wires were chewed to pieces by rodents The reason I needed to source a new connector. Whats the rest of the wiring you're referring too? Thats the knock sensor wires that were chewed up and I cut back and stripped.

Nothing left?? We need to identify pin 1 and pin 2 in the connector to match it to the new connector ( with wrong color wires)

Nothing salvageable that could be used, why a replacement was needed. I will look at 01 diagram to see if I can cross reference the colors. Does the black wire not hook to anything then?

I was hoping you could see a tiny piece of wire color on just one of the wires and tell which side of the connector it was on...

The black wire doesn't hook to the connector, it should have had some aluminum foil wrapped around the other two wires that connected to the black as a grounding shield..it is to keep from EMF/RF interference/noise from disrupting the knock signal...

From looking at wiring diagrams, I should just be able to splice into the following locations.

99- Bank 2 ( a2, OR/GR, a1 OR,GN)

01- Bank 2 (a2 BK/WH, a1 BU/RD)

Yep, that will work...then skin back the black wire exposing the strands and wrap some aluminum foil around all three tightly and heat shrink it tight...
