My 996 has been emiting white smoke after hard drives for a while now, at first I thought it was my AOS, but I replaced the AOS two days ago and today I figured I’d go out on a backroad and have a bit of fun. A couple hours after my drive I went out and started my 996 and saw huge puffs of white smoke out of the exhaust. Could my car being catless have anything to do with it??

Easy to miss something. I just did a full rebuild and am breaking in the motor. After 400 miles the engine developed a bad rattle. thought I might have to disassemble it but it turned out the power steering pump pulley was not properly torqued and was the source of the rattle. What a relief it was something so simple.

Yep, when the oem Air Oil Separator fails and doesn't separate anymore, you get oil in every nook and cranny. The best is when you get oil in your exhaust and you get black smoke and flames out the tail pipe. Been there and done that. Consider the UAOS sometime in the future as a replacement. Sure, the oem AOS is cheap. But there is a reason it's cheap.
As Sierra suggested, assuming it was the failed aos and you put a new one on the car, clean out the intake/tb and it will go away.
