Default 2004 996 turbo

Good morning all
I recently had my engine pulled apart to fix a timing issue and now I have a code p0344 and the so-called Porsche expert says the problem is my ECU. Could that be true?

Very slim chance. More probable it is the cam sensor, connector or wiring that is bad (intermittent contact) as that has been handled during fixing the cam timing issue whereas the ECU has been sitting inside the car undisturbed all that time...

Did that same expert conduct the mechanical repair? If so I'd be weary of him pointing to all else but his own work as the cause...
