2003 996 Radio no sound.

My 2003 996 has no sound from the stereo even though the head unit displays a station and volume level.
Its a C2 coupe with Bose Speakers and CDR 23 head unit

Short guesses,,, there ae various combinations depending on is it a C2/C4/C4S Convertible or Coup or Targa.
Bose - Check the amplifier in the frunk.
Hifi- Check amplifier
Base - head unit
