Per my posting below, I was looking for a second set of wheels as the rears on the car have some curb rash. I found and bought a set of Kinesis K20s with Yokohama AVS Sports from Speedware Motorsports up in Redmond because the price was SO good. They are 9" fronts, 11" rears, 235/45 fronts, 315/35 rears. They purportedly came off a 996. After (of course) I bought them, I read more on tire sizes, and these seem to be outside the recommended width. Did I make a mistake? (They are within the 4% range for the ABS.)
The answer is "Yes." The rears are too wide. They hit the wheelwell liner at the inside front. Bolt pattern is fine; tires/rims don't rub anything else.
My question is now what models might they fit? What are the wide-body models?
check the offset on the wheel. C2 can take 11'' rear without probelm if the offset is right. since Kinesis is custom built wheel, if they were built for C2 u'll be fine. rear offset should be in the 52 area.
however, the tire size is a bit weird to me. sounds for sure they are 18'', but the side wall is too high. remember, P-cars are very sensitive. therefore 4% is a lot!
I'm sorry that your purchased wheels are not exactly a proper fit. This happened to me earlier in the year. Anyway, I have a brand new set of take of wheels/tires from an '04 C4S. Fronts 8x18 et 50 / rears 11x18 et 45 with brand new Michelin Pilot Sports (N1). If you're interested let me know.
The GT3 uses 295 and its a narrow body with a 11" wheel. The problem you got I think is that thoes wheels sound like they are from a wide body and the offset are wrong.
