Default Window drop

My driver side door is not dropping the full distance when opening the door. Seems there is a possible temporary fix with a zip tie. My question is, what sealer do I use to put the membrane that I need to peal back to get to the door internals?
Thanks In advance.

Are you talking about that really thin foam membrane that is glued on to begin with? Mine is still tacky so I just kind of press it back on and it holds on well enough to be a membrane between the door interior panel and the regulator. I would think if yours isn't tacky enough some 2-side tape would be enough. Also - my 2 cents is don't mess with the zip tie fix, replace with an OEM regulator if you're going to go through the hassle of removing everything. I tried the zip tie fix and I was back with a new regulator within 1 year.

So does the regulator come with that cable that I guess stretches? Thanks.

Yep it is the cable on the regulator that is moving the whole show - that is where the zip tie goes to essentially add tension and make the cable a bit "shorter." If the cable is fraying it will just continue to fray and get looser - if it's one of the nylon wheels wearing out it will continue to wear, etc.. The zip tie is just a band-aid solution so that is why I recommend just replacing the part.

^^He is correct. Buy an OEM Porsche regulator and replace. They are good for around 20 years if you don't use the window very much. You can gently peel off the membrane and it will be all right.
