I was able to get my hands on a complete rooftop transport system for the 996 cabrio. Crazy how practical they wanted these cars to be. Even the cabrios. It took some searching but finally have it in all its entirety.

Has anybody actually installed this thing before? It’s a royal pain in the ***. I gave up after a bit not wanting to break something. Installing the 4 little brackets on the A and C pillars is where all the magic happens. But I’ll be goddamned. It’s cool in theory. While reading the directions, I found this system actually can be used soft too up, soft top down, or even with the hardtop on. They thought of it all. The crazy engineering. If only I could think like a Porsche engineer from this era.

if anybody has ever done this on a cabrio. I am super eager to hear about it.
