Unhappy 996 Tiptronic Cruise Control Not Working

Hi all!

I searched but cannot find a similar situation to mine.. The cruise control in my '99 996 Tiptronic is not working. When I turn it on (with the switch at the end of the stalk), the green light comes on, but I can't get it to engage. Also, strangely when I pull the stalk towards myself, the light goes off..

Both my 3rd brake lights are original with all bulbs working, and being an automatic, I don't have a clutch switch.

If someone could shed some light on what would be the next best thing to check, I would be super grateful!

do your brake lights work? as in not stay on the whole time?

I have a wiring diagram that I highlighted for my tiptronic to manual swap on my 996.2...maybe that will be of some help.

Thanks a lot, that looks super useful, I'll poke around tomorrow!

Yeah the brake lights do work properly. I also tested the automatic switching when the rear spoiler is raised..
