Default My car was keyed - update

I reported about three weeks ago that my 996 had been keyed.

A friend of mine owns a body shop, and I gave him the car to repaint.

The insurance company paid him to repaint about 2/3 of the car, but he repainted the whole thing for me (the extra 1/3 he did on his own nickel).

Basically, I got my entire car repainted the original color and it looks great.

The insurance company paid about $4,000 minus my $500 deductable, and I'm guessing he put another $2,000 of work (at retail price) into it on his own nickel. Probably about $6,000 total.

All the rubber seals were replaced, and I checked out the work around the difficult areas, like the sunroof and the rear spoiler (you know, the one that pops up at 70mph), and I can't find any flaws or overspray.

If you're ever in the Atlanta and need a great paint job done, I can tell you where to go.

The moral of the story: Don't park your car within 1/4 mile of a group of skateboarders.

Bill,

I need to have my aero kit painted. I live in Atlanta. Who is your painter? I have used collision pro before with good results.

Thanks in advance,

Hank

The sweet feeling of the key touching the soft vulnerable paint as you dig it deeper and fight the initial resistance of the underlay metal.. after which you cant help but see the paint swirl as you slowly slide your hand inwards..

..silence of the lambs!
