Question CD Changer options?

Anyone know of any alternatives to the factory CD Changer for the late model stereo with the MOST bus?

The dealer wants like $1,300 for the Porsche CD Changer parts and labor. That seems way too high.

For that kind of money, you can almost get PSE. Suggest the PSE, then you won't care about your radio anymore!

I think I found a place on the internet that I can get the Becker unit from for several hundred less than the dealer. Even if I pay his price to install it (3 hours labor) it would knock the total down to about $850.

PSE just plays the same songs over and over again. Good once in a while but for long trips I want music.

mrpc12 - Let us know whether that source works out (and who it is). Actually I think about getting a changer too (I have the Bose system but no CD changer).

Although I didn't have the Most system, I got my CD changer for my Boxster (previous Porsche) from Continental and it was very easy to install yourself. It took about an hour. You will need the little tools to pull the radio. They sell for less than $10.

Got mine on ebay brand new from fred opert racing for about $400.00 and got the keys with it for about ten dollars. Total installation time for me being an absolute novice was about 3 hours.

The only changer for a 2003/4 MOST car is the Porsche CDC-4. The only dealer I know that sells it is Porsche. Becker will not sell it.

Thanks, Tool Pants. That's pretty much what I've figured out. I'm gonna wait until something more reasonable comes on the market. In the meantime, I'll use my iPod with an FM Transmitter.
