Default Need a new convertible top , which one should I get

I need to replace the top on my 2001 C4 cab, have a good local installer and they recommend getting the top from GAAh, also heard about Auto Tops Direct.

Looking for quality and good fit over price.

what are your experiences?

thanks, I’ll go back to drying my interior.

GAHH uses German A5 canvas, which is what you want. That's what the original top was made from. My top was replaced with that and it's been great. You'll have a choice between a glass or plastic window. It's a personal choice. The glass window is much smaller but remains clear. The plastic window more closely resembles the lines of a coupe but will lose clarity over time. The glass window is more expensive.

Mine has new roof and glass rear window. It’s smaller I actually like the lines of the smaller and plastic ones will get hazy over time and if the plastic is like isenglass on say my boats bridge, be very careful cleaning it.

Do you mind if I ask you what the cost you, all in, to replace?

Default GAHH replacement w/ plastic window

My ‘99 was originally plastic window and prev owner put a glass top in but it didn’t last (seal separated). I reverted to factory spec this past summer, from TopsOnline.com. $801 including tax & shipping for the GAHH Haartz Twillfast cloth. My local auto upholstery shop took $900 cash to install. Reused factory headliner.

$900 to install is a steal. I would love to find a local, reputable shop that will charge that.

If you are near CT I’ll tell you where the shop is.
