I test drove the yellow EVO 996 in Tempe about a year ago and it is unbelievably fast in comparison to my stock 996. Totally night and day! I have not driven a TT but I imagine that must be what a TT must feel like.

fahren affair...

They did have to make more changes to the ecu because of the X51 package. A few custom pieces had to be engineered as well for the C4S install.

The car pulls amazingly now!

I have the other C4S with the EVO SC and do not have the X51 but other mods. I plan to do a little quarter mile testing at the local track this summer and do a dyno on the first belt change at about 7500 m. It is hard to dyno AWD because you have to remove the front drive shaft (recommend by Porsche). I weighed the car this week and with one half tank and no other lightening (spare, tools, etc.) the car weighs 3360. I think that is lighter than a Turbo. My local installer kept the price to 1500 out of good will but it cost them much more time than they planned dur to R&D.. Have fun Will

djdj50 I´m very curious to see your results with the SC. The best way to have an accurate accelaration results comparo, would be to make a test with both cars has they are right now, and make another accelaration test after the SC install, just my 0,2

keep us posted and thanks for sharing your experience.

Good point, we've never raced side by side but my friend has driven both and says his 2000 is a touch faster than my 99 even though I have the upgraded ECU, the racing cats, headers, and the larger throttle body. My particular car has a DVD changer, TV tuner, CD changer, 4 large amps, 13 speakers, 2 screens, 2 batteries, a roll bar, and all of this is in a poor little Porsche! As you can imagine, I'm carrying a bit more weight than him. All of that is by way of saying that we should be able to get a pretty equal comparison between the 2 vehicles and I'll let you all know how it goes. He also has a portable device for reading acceleration, etc. and he set a benchmark with it prior to the S/C install.

Kirby, perhaps we can get the multiple discount then.

djdj50 - Are you upgrading your clutch as well? This particular issue is of interest to me. Thanks! Can't wait to see your car when it's done.

For a 99 I have relatively low mileage at 19k so I'll stay with the original clutch. If my mileage was at a point where I'd be considering a clutch change, then I would go on to a heavier duty clutch. Scargo said my current clutch should be fine so I'm just going by what they've told me.

Regards,
DJ
