There are several Japanese internet sites similar to Cars.com, Trader, etc. you can look at (some links below). They are tricky to navigate at first until you understand how they list/catagorize cars. You can sort by year, body style, transmission, etc. Make sure you have Google translate on! Like any used car market, not all are good deals or resonably priced...dealers in Japan do a lot of "fishing" to guage interest.

The majority of car sales in Japan are via auction houses which run most every day of the week. This is where the best deals are. Each car is graded and for the most part are fairly respresented. The large aucton houses in Japan survive off reputation so they try to ensure the car is fully disclosed (condition, accidents, etc.) You do need to work with someone who has access to the auction sites & bidding credentials. I found my car at a dealer in Japan and before I could establish contact with them it was sent to auction. Luckily I already had a Japanese import agent who I previously worked with and he bid for me. A lot of cars in the 23-24 year old range are currently being bought up and stored in either Japan or Canada until they are eligible for import into the US.

As a side note, most non-Japanese manufactured luxury or exotic cars in Japan are LHD, it is seen somewhat as a status symbol to own a LHD vehicle in Japan. All the German & Italian marques fall into this catagory.

Really nice find and absolutely a stunning car. Congrats.... Japan has some great deals and unique builds. My friend imports cars from japan and here is an absolutely rare 996.1 GT3 Club Sport from Japan, if anyone is interested....I have been salivating on this one but I like my car build better.

I heard the Yen is down - making it attractive to buy cars there?
Could you msg me a link to that one?
