Its not hard.
remove ring gear
use a steel punch to remove the spring pin
remove cross shaft
remove spiders
for reassembly make sure there is no oil on the bolts or threads and use red locktight. Dont know the torque, sorry.

I should remove Bearing than ring gear and that will allow spring pin to come out. Will it be hard to reinstall bearing back. Will heating it make it easy to get on.
Thanks old retired engineer.

No need to remove the the side careier bearings.
Spider gears r held in by the cross pin. Pull the cross pin and rotate the side gears and they fall out then the side gears can be removed. Be aware there may be thrust washers under them. U need to "time" spiders when u put them back in so they both align with the cross pin holes in the carrier when rotated back in. They both must be rotated back in at the same time. It takes some patients.
The ring gear only needs to be removed if pin cant be pulled past it. The ring gear is a slight press fit. Most people will say to not pull it in with the bolts but its how i do it. The manual will say to put the carrier in the fridge for an hour or 2 to help.

Guard or OS Giken. The factory unit is kinda good but wears out quikly and generally need rebuilt every 30k.
i have not done a porsche ls yet but i will probably have to reset the backlash on the ring gear if u change the carrier to a ls. Usually not had to do with a few correct tools.

Np, I like the technical stuff.
As much as i hate others touching my stuff i would probably pay one of the trans guys for a lsd install. The cost if getting wrong is too high
Also, @zbomb put a lsd in and he had to cut the axle shaft down some. I forget what kind he used.

OS Giken and the stub shafts had to be modified to be G50 length.
