Both my sun visor mirror covers are broken off and I'm looking to fix them neatly and cheaply. Right now I just have exposed mirror and the lights do not illuminate.
I've seen the guy who 3D printed the solution. Has anyone got a link to it?
They use brass tabs and are first-rate quality (in my opinion). I view them as better than OEM in durability and equivalent in quality, and they are very inexpensive.
So, if anyone has installed these, maybe you could help me out.
I removed the mirror housing from the sun visor, but I can't get the metal clips out of the mirror housing to slide the replacement mirror cover in.
In the instructions it makes it sound like they just slide out but mine seem to be hot glued in, at least. Anyone experience this?
I understand an alternate installation method is just bending the thing and jimmy-rigging it in but I'm keeping that as a last resort for now.
I don't remember the details, but I installed mine with the mirror housing still in the sun visor (it didn't want to come out with mild effort, so decided not to force it). I did need to bend the visor cover a bit to get it in, but it didn't damage it at all. It did take some fiddling, but should go in without problems.
I bought thru Amazon the SuLokiy Sun Visor Mirror Covers that someone had recommended about a year ago.
Sit your car outside in the sun and get the interior good and hot. If the cover hasn't already broken and fallen off, all you have to do is remove it by slightly bending it. Same process can be used to pop the new one in. Just make sure the new covers are good and warm so they are pliable.

Ditto. I didn't take any of the four of my visors apart to install the new covers.
I also installed these Amazon wonders and am very happy with them. I have a cab so I could always see my exposed mirrors and it irritated me. I had to go the extra mile though and completely remove my mirror assemblies from the visors to inspect (and on one side repair) the wiring. Then I had to source four new bulbs because mine burnt out from the PO breaking the lids off. All told I have too much time and money wrapped up in some mirrors and vanity lights I don't even use - but now I'm pleased they're right.
