Hi,

I just changed my exhaust tips on my 996 C4 and suddenly a weird squeaking sound occured from the exhaust system (i think). Any one who has a suggestion what this could be? I've tried to loosen the tip and tighten it. Same sound.

Remove the tip and see if the noise goes away . Maybe a cracked weld holding the tip to the pipe ? Or a clamp somewhere in the exhaust has loosened ?

Additional info: when the engine is heated up and the exhaust system is warm the noise disappear🤷‍♂️

Does the muffler itself move/rattle if you push/shake it by hand, when cold?
You could check that the three nuts on the backside of the muffler are tight to the bracket. Have to remove the tire and get a wrench in the tiny space between the coil shield (best to remove it) and the muffler bracket. Maybe the coil shield behind that is loose?
If it's not that, then it's something internal to the muffler.
