02 996 C2 Stalls HELP
Hi All,
I am new to this website, but not new to 911s. I had a 911T Targa and a 1979 911 SC Euro Coupe 30 some years ago. I recently purchased a 02 996 C2 with 160,000 miles. I was looking for a hobby / project car and I got it.
Replaced most of the suspension (Bilstein B6 shocks) control arms, etc.
My car stalled 2 times today. Coming up to a light, foot off gas, engine dead, all circular engine lights on. I stop, put it in Park, try to start, nothing on first key turn. Second key turn starts the car.
On 2 other occasions when I was going slower, it appeared the engine might stall, so I blipped the gas and it kept running.
Any thoughts on this?
BTW, no codes
Thank You

OP - Welcome. Without more info, I second De Jeeper. Check the tb first. Check that butterfly closes fully against the stop and idle control valve is properly connected and clean. Check for vacuum leaks and vacuum connections. Reset the ECU.

The egas throttle body uses the main butterfly for idle control and cruise control.
Some people report cleaning the egas throttle position pot can help with this.
I like your idea of a bad CPS too.
