Default Rear strut mount question

I installed h&r lowering springs on my 02 C4S. The back seems a 1/2” to low. I didn’t realize it but it’s soft rubber in the areas not near the bolts. Looking at the mount, is there anyway for me to add a 1/2” to rise the car a bit that would be safe?

Put a half inch spacer under the spring is the most correct way.

The washer would go on the strut and the mount would rest on the washer.
okay, I flipped over and can see how it works. How long should it take me to get one side out?

I had my local shop install and my rear is also a little too low. What exactly did you do and is there a part that I need to buy?
Thanks

I think it is part 7 (washer) that is replaced with a thicker one. The washer goes down the shaft where it eventually rests where the shaft diameter gets larger. #3 the stop plate rests on this washer.
Anyone know the diameter of the hole in the washer and the washer? What should it be made of?

That washer won’t raise the height. You need to put a spacer above or below the spring.

They make part 5 in two sizes. .5 and 4.0 mm

I think a washer/spacer on the bottom of the spring (that sits on the spring perch on the shock body) is your best bet - otherwise, you’ll run into problems with the rod reaching the top nut…

Are you saying a large washer that the springs rests on? Sandwiched between spring and strut? I would think the spring would not be supported by the carriage sides and it would slip. Excuse my ignorance. Been a while.
That other part mentioned that the top of the strut goes into, Not sure if I have a .4 or .5. If I am already at a .5, I’m out of luck and if not, the difference doesn’t seem like it would make up a 1/2” otherwise. Are my measurements off?

In post #4 you can see they put extra washers under the spring. I made mine.

It essentially makes the spring taller.

Got it. Sounds like I can just buy 4 - 6 of those washers an it will work. Thanks

Anyone have the measurement of the shim I will need? I replaced stock struts with Bilstein B8’s. Assuming the measurements would be the same?

Do you think basic metal spacers will work or will something have to be fabricated?
