Werks was great again this year and the parking location for our 996s display area was nice and close to the judged car field. I judged the newer Porsche models this year including the Tycan some really pristine cars as they were mostly new so condition reflected that was very hard to pick the winners in that class as all of them were great.
The rest of the Amelia Island event was a bit of a letdown as much has changed this year from past years. $20 plus fees per person to just walk into Cars and Community the new name for what in the past was simply a Cars and Coffee type of event. The Ritz decided that they would close off parts of the hotel not allowing non guests to eat in the bar restaurant or even buy a drink at that bar now that hurt😀
also in past years we were allowed to sit on the sidelines of concourse field Saturday afternoon to watch the Sunday cars being placed for the big show not this year security personnel instructed us to leave the field before the cars started coming in a 3 PM.
It is clear Hagerty has a different financial approach to what in the past was more a gathering of car enthusiasts it is now a business plan based on profits which is fine as that is the greatness of the American capitalist system but I too can change my buying decisions in that system and next year I plan to do Werks on Friday and head home Saturday morning taking my dollars with me.

My wife and I were only there for a very short time on Saturday morning. I see you have a 1999 996 Pastel Yellow listed in your bio though. We have a 1999 996 Pastel Yellow cab! Excited to see another Pastel Yellow as it's not one we see often. I love the tangerine too, very nice
