Dyed carpet w DupliColor vinyl & fabric. So… dyed/painted the carpet. Not as good of penetration as the RIT. Not in love w the results, may well order the Carpet like Captain Obvious. Advice on getting the carpet to lie on the compound curves? Did you melt the plastic welds and totally disassemble?

I did not totally disassemble to change the carpet on my doors. There is enough give that you pull the original carpet out and tuck the new carpet under the top section without the need to take everything apart. I used some repurposed plastic interior panel removal tools to tuck the carpet it, they worked well.

Trying to keep the red dash. Leaning toward red door cards (and inner rear quarter trim).
Carpet, seats, headliner, the A,B, C pillar trim black. Figure the center console will be all black.
think I’m going to follow your lead and get the carpet off Amazon

Picture the console black…and speaker grills in place.

Default Carpet removed

Carpet came off relatively easily. 70% alcohol was good to remove glue and bits of fuzz & backing. What did you use for adhesive? The 3M 90 spray or that brush on stuff?

Now that I'm finished with repairing the rusted out floor pan I'm planning on deviating the stock grey color with black carpet as an upgrade. I now want to run the black color up the sides of the door cards. I think it would make a great transition. I think dying from grey to black should be easy so I'm going to look into Rit dye as the solution. Good thing I didn't go from black to red! Oy.

Bringing this one back to life. I'm also thinking of dying my graphite grey carpet to black to get a two-tone look. Curious to hear from @Yogibara and @TheUnscented on how yours went. Any photos you can share? Anyone have any photos of Graphite Grey door card with black bottom?

I had used RIT dye to dye some OEM faded black carpet deeper black. Finally got the color right but stiff. Fortunately that part of the carpet was the rear package shelf and not frequently touched. Tried to dye the red door carpet black. To stiff. Eventually gave up, removed red door carpet and sourced new black carpet for lower door panels.
