996 leak from rear left
Just noticed a rather big leak on my 1998 996 c2 from rear left after a short drive.
My first thought was coolant but looks greenish in its hue.
I’ll check the coolant once the engine cools down though.
Any ideas? I happen to have a major service scheduled for next week. Is it safe to drive 15 min through London to get there?
this is about 5 minutes after I parked so it’s a fair amount.

Advanced
I would inspect the coolant tank first.

When my coolant tank went bad it would puke up a liter or so when I turned off the car after a decent drive. If that's the cause of your leak, you're in for sticker shock as the part for an MK-I tank is $400-$600 for a Genuine Porsche tank. Don't be tempted to buy a cheaper OEM or 3rd party tank. If you do, you'll be doing this job again in a year or so. Ask me how I know.
You should be fine driving 15 minutes to the shop. Just make sure the level is topped up and keep your eye on the temperature gauge. If it is the tank, it's probably a very small crack that only leaks under significant pressure. Carry a jug of distilled water to be on the safe side.

The engine does run quite hot. Goes up to like 95-97 degrees C in city driving. Never past that though. Although I think that hasn’t changed since I got the car 3 years ago.
But yeah, gonna check the coolant level tomorrow.
