Good info gbarron. I am pretty good at this stuff I use to rebuild cell phones back in the day and have lots of equipment. I have a spare PCM1 radio unit and have completely disassembled it. The problem is there are so many darn chip sets in it I cant tell which is the master for the radio. Ill take a look into your link.Thanks

Unfortunately I was never able to get the correct code for the radio, even from the dealer. I was able to rebuild the LCD and got the screen to light up again. I ended up selling the car with the locked radio as the new owner wanted original radio only.
