thanks to everyone’s thoughts and comments and concern. Without these forums we are just individuals. Pics received and apparently they had to repackage them so now I have 2 packages coming. Not one. I have 2 DHL tracking numbers. I’ll update once they arrive.

Lol. Someting like that....and oh yea....Walter Rohrl used them in Scandanavia for testing.

His test seats were CF backs and had a ONE OF ONE heat element in GT3 seats with this gray leather.

That's right..heated buckets were being tested to be a thing!!

In the end Porsche decided against going with the heated seats and Vitaly installed them in his car. I saw all these details and believe it to be truth!

You had me at Walter Rohrl. I don't care if they are cut and open wounds. My *** will be sitting where his was. Pretty sure I'm a better driver already.

How cool is that?

And just to finally answer your questions. Those are my seats, they used them as advertising. They can get new Recaro skins from Recaro is what they were trying to say. Got lost in translation some where

I've decided to do DNA testing on the seat leather. Can anyone get a piece of chewing gum from Mr. Rohrl?

@work_truck Maybe just advertising to sell more "9k" seats... since they can just make them custom.

Here are the test seats from his testing in Scandanavia.

Could you imagine if the 996 GT3 got these CF buckets and heated elements! Gotta cut costs somewhere I guess.

It's cool but he's no Jon Voight.

I'll end up taking these leather skins off and smoothing out the bodies.

My upholsterer is downstairs from my office and makes sure all my seats are done to a high standard. I know the leather is 20 years old but from pics it looks like they need a little help. It looks like we will need to put some dacron between the body and the frame. As you can see from the original seats they were stuffed pretty good, which explains the wrinkles now.

I think that's better than trying to shrink the leather.

How tall are you? I'm 6'2" and just installed my GT3 seats a couple weeks ago. To my astonishment, they are considerably higher up than the stock 996 sport seats.

Like so high up that it blows my mind this isn't mentioned every single time people talk about these seats. If I were as tall as any of my 6'5" friends - I simply wouldnt fit in the car with these damn seats.

I ordered the Brea Krause side rails to drop it about 1.5", and really hoping that fixes the issues. If not, I'll be selling mine. What kind of bucket brings you HIGHER in the car? Just ridiculous...

yeah you need the lowering bracket. I’m 5’10 and wouldn’t drive any other way but I’m used to sitting pretty low from the race car. The former owner of my seats was 6’4” and he was fine.

once you install the lowered brackets you will be in love. I left my passenger seat tall. Looks cooler also when you see the seats from the outside imo
