No, my car has had the LN Engineering dual row ceramics put in. (Since it's an early '99 MY, its original IMS bearings were also dual row.) Mileage-wise, they're still good, but age-wise I think they are technically due for replacement.

Then again, what is the failure rate on ceramic (dual row) IMS bearings?

Are you thinking about upgrading to the Solution? As I recall, the double row bearings were the most robust as compared to the single row. If I remember correctly, their failure rate was around 1-2%.

@mffarrell , yes I have. I have not had the IMSB updated there, as mine was already replaced prior to my purchase. I have had my Variocam pads replaced by them however.

So, I received a call this morning from MM expecting a quote for the work (labor only). I am told that the new owner won’t allow customer provided parts.

Well, I guess I will be doing the job myself.

Marque won’t let you supply your own retrofit?

I like Marque (don’t love) but Matrix does these all the time, that’s where I had my Boxster S IMS done. Just go there, they’re excellent. Not cheap, but excellent.
