3 spoke steering wheel. Is it worth upgrading?
I found a guy who’s selling a 3 spoke wheel for $600. It’s in excellent condition. Should I upgrade mine, and then try to sell my 4 spoke $200-$300?

My first 996 had 4-spoke, my second had the 3-poke. I vastly prefer the 3-spoke, not even close. Some feel just as strongly about the 4-spoke, so ultimately it is up to your preferences.

I didn't love the 4 spoke that came with my car and now have an aftermarket wheel. I drove a car with a 3 spoke and did like it better. The 3 spoke felt like my 997.2 steering wheel did.

I think the 3-spoke wheel on the 996 (and let's not forget, the Carrera GT) is the nicest Porsche steering wheel since the wooden wheels used on the 356 and early 911s, until the 991.2 steering wheel. The 997 steering wheels look really odd to me.

I have an '03 so I have the 3 spoke.....
years ago on my fox mustang I spend $400 (no airbag) for a visually identical but in full leather steering wheel. So, imho the 4 spoke is not a good looking steering wheel. The 3 spoke certainly is. I think it is well worth the $600. Also, if there are any scratches imperfections in the leather, it can be easily fixed with some shoe polish and leather treatment. I sent pics of the mustang steering wheel after having spent 15 minutes on it to the seller. He couldn't believe how good it looked.

I paid $900 for my 3 spoke wheel in full leather with airbag. Huge upgrade from the 4 spoke, IMO.
I know many people like the 4 spoke because it’s the same as the 993, but for me there is no comparison.

I prefer the 3 spoke myself. I got a 3 spoke shortly after getting my car 7 years ago. I picked up a leather covered airbag module a few years later when I found one for a decent price. I’ve still got a really nice Savana Beige 4 spoke available if anyone is interested...

Personal preference but I prefer 3 spoke. I got an aftermarket carbon 3 spoke and love it! I have a 3 spoke grey for sale and a 3 spoke met blue with airbag for sale!
