Default Front License Plate Holder

I recently bought a 2004 911 C4S Cabriolet. The front bumper has two square holes to hold a front license plate. The car did not come with the mounting hardware (white plastic clips and screws to mount a license plate holder). I contacted my local Porsche dealer, and for everything, including the license plate holder and screws, they were asking for $125. Way more than I was expecting. I think the important part to get are the white clips and screws. Any idea where you can find these that will fit the pre drilled square holes? Any chance Home Depot or Lowes would carry them? Thanks

When I pulled my front bracket off, I had the square holes in my bumper also. I still have everything stored away and can send you pictures to see if it's what you need. I'll never re-install a front plate on my car again so I'm willing to part with it and help you out. Once I get home from work I'll try and get some pics once I find what box it's in... I'm packing up for a move so I've got **** everywhere.

If he can't find his, I should have a front plate kit laying around somewhere as well that I'd let go for free.

I took mine off, put bumper plugs in the holes and never looked back. Not sure how strict your region is on front plates but I've always hated them and never run them. There's a local bodyshop here that will fill them and respray for about $300. Definitely worth it IMO.

Parts prices have been been going nuts but that still seems high. Try Sunset, Sonnen or Gaudin.

Haha I have one sitting in my garage too.

I ordered Bumperplugs the day that I picked up my 996.

Driven over 40k miles without NJ required front plate without issue. I carry the front plate under passenger floor mat and if ever pulled over will claim i removed it to get front resprayed and haven’t put it back on yet.

I did the bumper plug thing too, and use a tow hook mounted plate relocator for when I need to show a plate (which is almost never)
I bought this kit from US MIllworks

If you get pulled over it probably won't be for no front plate...😜

I carry a fake email with my registration and insurance card so I can show it to a cop if I'm pulled over. The email is from the 'dealer' and says that I'm ordering a bracket but it's coming from Germany.
