Default 996 v 993 Turbo

Would I be mad to swap my 2002 996 C4 with 11000 miles for a Speed Yellow 993 Turbo with 12000 miles?

Which will retain value better?

Guh....
I'd swap anyday!

The 993TT will be worth more than the 996C4 in two years from now.
That's just my two cents...
Especially since they are probably RHD cars. Not many 993TT built that way.

Default A No-Brainer

993 TT. With the roads you have to the north and east of where you live I can't imagine many steps closer to heaven. If you read "Autocar", "Car" and "Evo" you will already know the right roads.

The only downside of the 993 will be the lack of safety aids like PSM and side airbags.

I'd go for it if I were you.

I swapped my '03 cab for a 993TT - will be taking delivery on saturday. In terms of PSM I wasn't too worried about it. Being that the car has AWD it should be ok. I had a 2001 Audi TT which was pre-ESP and the car handled great (mine was only rated at 260hp w/mods, though).

COMPLETELY different cars; it depends what you are looking for. If you are looking for a fun weekend car, the 993TT is the ticket. That car is raw and fast! The 993 TT's seem to be quite sought-after these days too, so in terms of depreciation, they will probably fare better than the 996, especially with the arrival of the 997 later this year...

I told a petrolhead friend it was Speed Yellow and he said "No, no, no!"

I think that they are hard to shift in UK.

How about a 964 RS and a Mini Cooper S Works?

Default Check Paragon and Camtune

It might give you an idea of how rare SY is in UK. you might also ask them what they thought about the resale value of a SY 993 TT vs one in AS
