Hey, so maybe someone can help me out and maybe someone has had the same thing happen.
I will admit I don’t get the chance to drive my C2 as much but will be changing very soon.
So this morning I backed the car out of the garage because of work being done inside the garage, after coming home from work I started the car to put her back in the garage and the CEL comes on, I used my code reader have to double check the code number. I think it was P301 but I can double check tomorrow, I said Cyl 6 misfire. Now when I started it up to put the car back in the garage it was running slightly rough, then the code came on and then started to run smooth again.
With all this covid **** I can’t remember when I had my local Indy shop so my sparks and coils since I had multiple misfire previously and my guy said that was the issue so we replaced everything so I’m unsure what could be causing this.
Just drive it. Starting a car and moving a few feet before shutting it off is a recipe for an unhappy car. Some of the Audi models in the early 2000's where very hard to start if moved and only run for a few seconds. The Audi guys called it "lawnmower syndrome" because a common scenario was that the car was backed out of the garage and immediately shut off so that the owner could get his/her lawnmower out. Back in the 1980's, VW's came off the truck with the coolant temp sensor disconnected to keep them from running rich and fouling plugs on the inevitable multiple starts involved in loading and unloading the cars at port.

Take it on a long drive.
Thanks, I’ll do that. I can see why that would cause this. And thanks for the history lesson I did not know that.
Check again. A P0301 is a misfire on cylinder #1, not #6. Clear code, go for a longer drive and see if it comes back. A lot of times #1 is coolant leak dripping on cylinder #1 coil/plug. Is your coolant cap blue and ending in part number 04?

I’ll double check the code, I know the details on it said Cyl 6 but I’ve heard the P0301 is cyl 1. Coolant cap is blue don’t know the part number have to check when I’m home from work
