Default Anyone know how to fix the piece that the cabrio top latches to?

I usually don't even leave my top up but someone pointed out that my top was not completely closed. I noticed that when the top closes and latches it pulls the latch forward on the left, driver side. When the top is closed or unlatched the dome piece sits where it's supposed to. Does anyone know what's going on here and how to fix it before I just start ripping it apart?

Things are looking very crooked there. But it's hard to see what's going on. Try posting up some pics of both parts of the mechanism with the top halfway open?

Right, it's only crooked once the latch locks itself. If I put the top down it looks fine.

There are like four bolts that keep the latch receptacle in place. My guess is one or more of them are loose allowing the unit to be torqued when the top latches in. I’d open the top and gently pry off the cover and see what’s up.

I figured it out. It was really easy in case anyone runs into the same thing. There are two T30 screws under the black caps on the dome light. Mine must have fallen out a while ago for some reason and I never figured out what it was for because it was sitting in my storage space under the radio. The torx screw on the other side was also loose, tightened them both backdown and as good as new.

Glad your back up and running. My bolts had red locktight on them. You might want to consider that

I will check that out. I remember it falling out and I had no idea what it was for. It must have come loose over time from latching but it only recently started to get crooked like that, must have been because the other side was finally coming lose, glad I caught it before the latch ripped it off.

Definitely Loctite. What’s weird is that the repair manual says only 7NM to tighten them. 15nm makes more sense. I’d also do a one over on your entire system. If you see leaking in front of your real wheels the rams may be in need of a rebuild.
I did a whole repair series on these tops on my YouTube channel.
