I had put down some 3M painter tape during the first process. On the final time I didn’t put it down, but was careful to not rub/push against it.

When installing the seal on the rearward section of the opening with the sunroof retracted, I had maybe an eighth of an inch of space between the painted sunroof and the seal so really couldn't not push against it. Curious if we had a different approach - maybe you moved the sunroof depending on the section you were working on? Either way, if you are from the future and doing this -- TAPE UP your sunroof paint!

You were right about the extra 2mm. I was starting to think the 99's had a shorter seal. A little hair dryer action and some patience is all that was needed.
