Applied with an applicator and now the hood appears to have swirl marks. The rest of the car looks great. Car is black so it shows everthing but this is unussual.

Did I apply incorrectly?

Also do I need any polish or glaze after?

Rejex is best applied with a soft cotton towel or diaper, and removed with the same.. A foam applicator will usually give you marks. Another cause of removal marks is not using enough pressure when removing the dried haze or waiting too long to remove the haze. You might try again with a soft cloth to polish down the marks, but a sure fire way to smooth out your finish will be to get some Meguires #9 Swirl Remover 2.0. This will completely clean up your boo-boo with the application and removal.

Did you do your rims also? I did the inside of my rims this last time and WOW, brake dust is kept to a minimum.

OH996, not sure you have to reapply, but it's so easy I would.

I doubt the foam applicator caused the swirl marks. I have applied many different products with foam applicators and never induced swirls. More than likely the foam applicator and/or the surface was contaminated with something was caused the swirls. Another possibility is the swirls existed prior to the application of the Rejex but were hidden by a previous application that contained fillers of some sort. When Rejex was applied it may have removed the fillers and exposed the swirls. If this is the case then Rejex probably has some type of chemical cleaning abilities like Klasse AIO. As for the cleaning properties of Rejex this is purly speculation on my part to try and determine where your swirling came from.

I would also caution against the use of diapers. Most diapers have polyester stitching holding the diaper together and also giving the “quilted” effect. This stitching can most definitely cause swirling in some finishes. 100% cotton (including the stitching – do the burn test) and/or a microfiber towel would probably be the best removal tool.

Used the swirl remover and then reapplied Rejex with a polishing cloth and the results were much better. Thanks

Over the weekend I drove the car 250miles on Highway 5. Typically at night you'll kill a TON of bugs...well the car has a coat of rejex on it and there were only a few bug splats on the bumper and windshield. The next morning I just wiped down the entire car with a little detail spray and it's as good as new! 20 minutes is all it took, including the rims. Now that's why I use Rejex! I never have to wash the car. Just wipe it down.

two months and still seems to be working.

Wow, that stuff looks great. I've had great success with Zaino which I have been using since 1999. If anyone wants to check it out go to http://zainostore.com/ I admit I haven't tried REJEX but I can't imagine a polish that is greater than 99% clear. Just an alternative guys.

does anyone know how it compares to Zaino and if it can be applied over Zaino.

I have used both (put rejex on over zaino) and the rejex clearly increased the shine

You can apply ReJex over any organic wax just fine, the issue is longevity. The Rejex will bond to the wax and not the paint, so as the wax degrades off, the Rejex goes with it. The proper sequence is to first clean the paint with a clay bar, smooth the paint with glaze and/or swirl remover, apply Rejex and let cure, then if you want, top it with an organic wax such as Zaino.

hello again,

about the rejex discount for rennlist members, i've been quoting $16.09 for a 16oz bottle, plus $2 standard shipping in the lower 48. that's about 4 bucks off the price, plus about 4 bucks off the shipping (depending upon where you live). international sales will get the same price, and not much more in shipping.

but, in case you might be interested, i'd be more than happy to do $11.97 a bottle, if you order a case (12 bottles). and, if you're really wanting to keep a lot of cars clean, i have one-gallon jugs of rejex for $86.97.

call or email me if you're interested. x-auto products sells wholesale to car club members who in turn sell it their club friends. FYI, a car club can be a race organization or whatever forum gets car people together.

our website should be completely updated by the end of the week. by then, i hope the rennlist site sponsorship is a done deal.

thanks
