I change the oil every 3k miles and I had it tested. No signs of metal particulates so far.

Air Oil Separator. Once it fails you risk the chance of hydro locking your engine. Best option is the Ultimate AOS system that fixes all the issues the OEM one will eventually have.

Air Oil Separator. Important part that you do not want to fail on the track or around town. Search in RL under UAOS and AOS, and you will find plenty of info. Porschetek3 who is a Rennlist member developed the UAOS which is a much better solution than the stock Aos. Your other option is a Porsche motorsports aos.
Don't attempt to track your car until you have gone thru the list with your Porsche shop and everything checks out. You don't want a 25k engine rebuild bill.

and that folks is why I won't let my indy mech talk me into racing mine. I just can't afford to play in that arena. Sure wish I could though........
Yeah, RL is littered with guys that just bought a 996 and don't do the necessary basics to make sure it will function properly going forward. Instead they buy radios, aero, wheels, etc. And then get pissed when it stops running. Kinda silly isn't it.
Don't forget, you also need to balance out the front end depending on what you do with the back end.
The rear spoiler deploys on a stock car at high speed without any additional front aero. From what I’ve read, the stock spoiler is slightly more effective at reducing lift than a ducktail, so I think you’d be ok without changing the front. Maybe I’m missing something.
I am no expert in racing or tracking but when we went with the PCA on the track (NJ Motorsport Park) the car behaved extremely well and although we were not racing, we were going very fast. I didn't know my car could handle that well. Driving your car on the track is totally intoxicating. So much more fun than driving fast on the road. No fear of getting a ticket, no potholes, very low risk of hurting someone or an animal and if you lose control you have a very good chance of not damaging your vehicle.
So I think I'm going to keep it stock as far as the exterior is concerned but I will certainly follow the suggestions in terms of improving the engine components and also upgrade the suspension.

Smart. Tracking the car is an incredible experience. Sounds like you are hooked. Enjoy it. Do the basic things to keep the engine safe first, then plan projects to enhance year by year. I've been tracking mine since 2004 and still haven't figured out what I really want yet for aero. Spent the money on the engine, suspension, brakes, safety equipment and service.
Pay attention to Zbomb's posts. He has built his car over time doing the right things first. You will have a blast with a great car.
