Default My PSE quote from the dealer: Fair?

They are quoting me $1,980 for the part, plus tax, and $1,025 for labor. Doesn't $3,005 sound a bit steep to you? I asked them to quote w/o electronics.

Holy sh*t that's high. They must be including the electronics, a straight muffler install is a 1 hour job.

unfair!

brandywine porsche is listing the PSE set on ebay for 1500.00.
this is a good price to pay. if you call them they will give you that price.
the install should be $100-150, or you could do it yourself.
do not have the electronics done because it is too expensive.
search the forum, this has been discussed at length.

I had mine put on at a local Midas Muffler shop for $75.00. This is a pretty easy thing to do. It took them about 1 1/2 hours. Don't waste your time (or money) having the electronics installed.

I think that parts should be around $1,500. Call Brandywine Porsche and Sunset Porsche for prices. Also, it may be worth trying Gert, given that the Euro has dipped recently.
Labor should not be more than 2 hours, if you don't connect the electronics, and most people opt not to (it defeats the purpose of installing a sports muffler).

Do the install yourself. The instructions have been listed in the forum. $1500 is the price.

Just as another referance, another person on this board paid $1595 for the PSE and a local garage $140 to do the install. No electronics.

I got the local dealer to match the Brandywine price on PSE last year. Might be worth a try.

Local shop in my area that sells PSE II, By Design matched the Brandywine price w/ shipping costs. PSE II for $1500 even, and $150 for installation w/out electronics.

Lowest a dealer in my area would go to try and match Brandywine as my reference was Pacific Porsche, $1595 (before tax) for PSE II, and 3-hours labor to install, which would be like another $345-350.
