By popular demand I'm starting this thread. As for me:
I thank Manuell aka "Manny" every time I arrive safely back in my garage..."well done Manny" is my go to line. My wife also compliments him by name. LOL
Sometimes i do, especially when it brings me back safe from a long tour/drive
If it starts to talk back to me, that's when i may start to have a problem
No, but my cars talk. It's a running gag my wife and I have been running for 30 years. The 911 has a German accent and is cheerful and cheeky. Our M3 also has a German accent but is dour and haughty. Our Miata has a PeeWee Herman accent and just wants to be loved.
Just dropped Casper off at my mother in law's house and swapped for my red car. Pulled into her garage, killed the engine and instinctively muttered "I'll see you soon sweetheart." I love my three sports cars and talk to them all them time. It's insane but I say hi to them, and make comments out loud like "Oh my God, I can't believe I own you". Crazy for sure.
Sometimes, usually after a long road trip thanking it for the safe trip. (The 996 named Hans, X3 named Beauhannon - Bo, or the big dumb truck named Dalton.)
I always say thanks to my cars when done driving. I actually say, 'thanks for the ride, babe'. When I put it up on a ramp or stands for service I'll usually say something like " OK kiddo, let's see what you got going on here! ". I'm sure there are other things I say that I'm not aware of. The car I spoke to most was the car I had in college, '67 Chevy Impala. I'm convinced that I talked it out of breaking down many times.
