As you are an Alpina fan, they raced with cats in the German Touring Car Championship (DTM) late 80's to prove performance with Cats.

Thumbs up 2nd person

But if you like the idea of having the wiper, then more power to you. Good thread!
I also like the rear wiper. It is so unusual in the "typical" american car offerings, japanese, american, whoever, that I really like it. I went to great pains to fit a rear wiper for a 930 "whale" lid because I liked it. I have a C4S and will try to do the same. It takes effort to find parts and such, do the work, skip the fear, and make it happen. Different strokes for different folks. YMMV

cheers

Rear wiper switch never lit up but I feel like it should.
Started wondering if the white outline was screen printed but a back light confirmed it’s not.

I can’t get continuity across the led circuit though so maybe the led has given up the ghost…?

Will carefully try disassembling another switch to see if they are similar.

More to come…

edit - disassembled, threw some heat over the circuit board (reflow of sorts) and now it’s fixed. Lights up like a champ. 🙂

Nice work, it’s impressive to see you work through these issues so diligently.

Edit: Found my answer in a latching relay that allows a single momentary switch to open a circuit continuously.

Thanks!

I saw the email reply notification and I think you and I are in the same thought arena. I’ve been thinking of a way to make the rear wipe function operate as a continuous intermittent wipe and/or a constant wipe for heavy rain. Possibly using an intermittent wiper relay and a switch like a heated seat switch that has off, low and high? I need to get back into the wiring diagrams and have a think.
