Finally introducing my new to me 996.
I had been on the look since March and the onset of covid as we all know has created a grea environment for some cars and the 996 has benefitted somewhat.
I looked at a bunch of vehicles local to me and interstate and unfortunately by the time you factor in shipping and list of repairs needed for these cars... I couldnt find one that checked all the boxes within my range... whats the old addage about choose 2 but you cannot have all 3?
So in October I found the following car on CL... local to me... right price and most importantly with $6k spent on preventative maintenance at a well know Pcar specialist.
The seller did warn that some cosmetics were required in the interior and that it had a a seat belt light on from the seat buckle but had no time to clear.
I purchased the car the next day after speaking to the Pcar specialist and drove home.
On the way home I had an ABS/PSM light show up...
I took it home and had it checked out and the ABS/PSM light was due to a steering sensor and the seat belt was due to one of four error codes all in the 20's..
I have since had everything corrected including a window reg... I have cleaned up the interior and found a set of 40AE wheels.
The metallic black has really grown on me... as initially I had sworn myself off Arctic Silver and Black!
Looks great. I just bought my first 996 and love it. I got it on ebay also it is a 1999 C4 and I snagged it for $ 14,000. I thought it was a great deal and it only needed a water pump. That I could do myself.
