Default Removing mufflers

Off to a poor start.1st bolt on tail pipe clamp snapped. Can find a bolt that fits. Anyhow, should I expect the bolts on the side (when I pull off the wheels) to snap? Also, with the clamps that connect the muffler to cats (I believe), if those bolts snap, will the clamps at least release so I can slide out of the way? Trying to figure out if I should just have shop do. I don’t mind replacing clamps. I just don’t want to get stuck.
Thanks

The hardware is garbage. Plan to just replace everything, I took the mufflers off and then took the tips off. I legitimately had to twist the metal clamp around until it just snapped and then pried it apart to get it off the pipe.

I replaced my clamps with these: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...88314&jsn=2193
I couldn't pass up the $12 each cost.
They still are in great condition a year or so later.
But I don't live where they salt the roads.

How about those bolts on the side? The ones that I will take the wheel off to get at? Also once the clamps and fasteners are off, shall I expect a fight to get the muffler to disconnect?

I’m not even sure what I broke. Can’t find in diagrams.

So the two in the back ground, this one I broke the bolt on, another to hold too on and then two fastener bolts on the side. Are any going to brake and then not allow me to proceed with out to many headaches?

Bolt 24 and maybe 25 cannot be remove with the muffler mounted unless someone has reversed them with the nuts on top.

The three nuts attached to brackets 23 and 28 should come off easily although they are a little difficult to get to.

Tips can be left on.

You can break both of the bolts on clamp 29. Get new bolts. Once that clam is loose and you remove the three nuts I described above the muffler will come off.

So is it just 24, 25 and 29 that hold the muffler on? How do I get to 24/25? On my back or do I need to take wheels off? I was under impression I had to take wheel off.
Its a c4s so maybe another clamp for tip which I broke the nut head off of.
i order (time is money)
2 of 24, 25, 29, 22 and 13
4 of 16 nuts
Hopefully does it. Thanks for the help.

Okay just watched a video. It looks like I just remove the clamps I started and the three nuts that hold the muffler mounting plate to the car. Are those three nuts likely to fail? If those go I will be screwed. I will pay but would rather do myself so I didn’t just pay someone else to do my whole car.
Sorry for all the questions, I really Inch my way through projects.

You should not have a problem with the three nuts. You will know right away if they are going to turn. I broke at least two of the four bolts on the pipe clamps no problem with these.

Any special wrench needed to get at those three nuts? I’ll get before I start.

Everything holding the mufflers on are very standard metric nuts and bolts. Have a ratchet, extension, and open ended wrench. No special tools needed, nor is there a need to remove the wheel (though it might be a little easier to see what you're doing if you haven't done it before). Once you know what you're doing you should be able to R&R very quickly.
