Dang! That was close!
Coming home from dinner with wifey last night I noticed a “clunk” that came from the right front side as I made a left turn into the driveway. Earlier in the day I had noticed the same “clunk” coming from the left side when I made a right turn. As I have only recently taken delivery of my C4S, and of course been doing my research on possible issues and resolutions, I assume I’m gonna need to start replacing bushings and maybe some mounts and other suspension parts. Dang! I’ve barely even gotten to know her 😢
Well, I’m in the shower this morning (with a clearer head 😎 and it dawns on me what the culprit might be. I grab a robe and head to the garage to pop the frunk. Sure enough the problem presents itself. Cheapest repair to a possible headache I’ve ever made!
Enjoying a screwdriver (the liquid kind) as I type this 😎
Anyone else have a similar experience? Or am I the only moron in the group?

I definitely had one of this moments once. I forget what exactly happened but I was putting new wheels on a car, they should have fit but when I went to drive the caliper was hitting the wheel. Of course I panicked thinking the wrong wheels came in or I ordered the wrong ones. I either left the spacer on or the spacer was stuck to the old wheel so I didn't put it on the wheel. Something like that, was a 5 minute fix.

Too much hard stuff in college, have to stick to the craft beer thing these days. Did have to make a stop at the State liquor store for the wife's request for some Screwball flavored whiskey...

Back in the 70’s I worked at a VW Dealership in the the service dept, a customer had taken delivery of a brand new 1971 Super Beetle and about a week later he brought it back to service department complaining of a clunk on turns. Tech took it for a road test, brought back in the shop and removed the driver side door trim panel and found an empty wine bottle in the door.
